I just wanted to share an experience I recently had in helping a person to better health. Last week I received a call from Evangelist Leroy Jenkins asking me to attend a long time friend who experienced low back pain. This friend would only be in town for a few hours to perform at the Celebrity Theater. I agreed to see what I could do to help his friend. On arriving at the theater I set up my portable examination and treatment table in the dressing room, which had just enough space for me to be functional. I evaluated this gentleman and found that his neck was swollen on the upper right side and lower left side with significant edema and muscle splinting. He also had a problem in his left low back. I questioned when he was injured in his neck. He denied injury. I reflected on how he could be so inflamed without injury. On asking further questions he told me his voice had not lasted through the previous night's performance; seems that he had been performing every night for over a month. His performances are a single man on stage singing, dancing, and talking for an hour and a half. He holds a microphone in his left hand the entire performance. This scenario explained the aggravation of the muscular and joint motor units in his cervical spine. Continuing small (micro) trauma events result in a body tissue reaction similar to a single large (macro) event. I determined that the only method I could use in physical medicine that would give his body a chance to make a recovery would be to stretch the tissues of his swollen neck structures until the edema was squeezed out. So I held his neck in various positions for several minutes each with accurate point pressure applied to the various tissues. After 30 minutes of this I judged that I had made all of the change possible during the time window I had to attend to his needs. I finished with perfunctory attention to the rest of his spine and left him to his dinner and dresser. This made his manager (previously Frank Sinatra's manager) very happy. The performance was fantastic; his voice was strong throughout the entire performance with high and low notes equally attained with manly volume. The audience, mainly mature ladies, absolutely adored his every pose, gesture, and vocalization participating with him by singing along, waving arms, and giving him gifts. These actions added to the success of the performance. Later in the dressing room amidst the press of the crowd he singled me out and thanked me with deep sincerity for my medical care and said he would be coming into the office in the future for me to finish helping his body recover full health and he is planning on bringing his wife with him for her to get care. Did I mention that he has performed for the last 43 years and is 73 years of age standing a full six feet with a relatively fit body; a real handsome specimen of manhood with an English accent. My next workshop presentation at Fire and Water International Church, one block north of Roosevelt on 20th St., is Thursday November 5 at 7:00 pm. I explain how the body really works and then demonstrate the physical and biochemical activities by examination and example treatment with immediate results in the volunteer's body that observers can see. Will I see you there with a friend you would like to help to better health? What I do is very unique and I am told not available from any other physician or chiropractor. Please, don't be shy or bashful, help a friend to health today by insisting that they come and then bringing them to the office or to the workshop so they can see the difference for themselves. So many patients have told me the only reason they finally gave in and came for evaluation and care was the persistence of a friend. Don't take no for an answer. Pastor Gus from Fire and Water International has referred his mentor Pastor currently suffering from a back injury and flat on his back in bed in California to me for care. The Pastor was ready to spend the energy and suffer the pain to fly to Phoenix for the care. However, Pastor Gus wisely told him he would consult with me and if needed would bring me to him in California. I'm told the problem is a compression fracture in the spine. I told them the only effective treatment for the spine vertebra that collapses like that is to pump it full of cement (made for this purpose) restoring the height of the vertebra (vertebroplasty) and then after the pain is reduced I could attend the joints surrounding injury to relieve them of their edema (swelling). His attending doctor has not recommended this type of care and the family does not know why. So I may need to talk to the doctor and see if he is holding anything back regarding what is called co-morbid disease i.e. a disease! occurring along with the first disease (injury) and maybe associated with it.
